Smoking steelhead

I spent most of Saturday running errands and making lists and getting ready for the next eight weeks. But I took time in the afternoon to smoke some steelhead fillets that Larry Hattery provided.

The weather was perfect for watching the brick oven and sipping some nice red wine. The steelhead were delicious (we polished off one fillet in lieu of supper). After the fish came out I smoked a beef brisket and Larry stayed to keep watch while I tended the fire and we enjoyed some more of that nice red wine. Betty joined us after she finished her homework--did we really stay out until 1:30am?

  1. Sounds like a great start to the sabbatical! The weather seems to have been timed perfectly to the start of all this!-- Helen
