A Sudden Shower

Saturday, May 30 I was surprised by an intense though short-lived thunderstorm. The storm was very localized, the picture shows the sun still shining on the lake past Mercer's point. The point stayed sunny throughout the storm. After the storm I drove into Polson and judging by the puddles the storm was no more than two miles wide. But very intense--a coffee cup on the porch indicated nearly an inch of rain in less than 30 minutes. Cooped up in the cabin during the downpour I occupied my time with a cleanout of the cabinet under the sink. Exciting! Three partial boxes of Brillo pads are now consolidated into one box. And it is always good to know where to find the extra bottle of silver polish.

After the storm I had a small dilemma. I wanted to take the utility trailer to town, but the trailer was parked in a place that is inaccessible to my little two-wheel drive Ranger when the ground is wet. Kubota to the rescue! I moved the hitch bar from the truck to the front receiver on the Kubota and used the Kubota to pull the trailer to level ground. Handy!
